About
She was born in Barbacena (MG, Brazil) and she lived in Belo Horizonte (MG, Brazil) where she got her Degree in Law by UFMG before moving to Juiz de Fora (MG, Brazil). UFMG is a free-of-charge public educational institution and the oldest university in the state of Minas Gerais, founded in September 7th, 1927 by the name of University of Minas Gerais (UMG).
Mônica Chein had the opportunity to take fine arts classes with the renowned artists and teachers Leo Brizola e Yara Tupinambá.
In here, Mônica Chein, reveals her paintings fulfilled with innermost sense of being of the art and expression of a state-of-art from human being artist.
“The concept of “Solidão Urbana” exhibition was created from my observations of people’s daily lives… I started creating by perceiving from their behaviour that we no longer see each other and, as a result, we end up not being seen either. Eyes don’t cross, hands don’t reach out and the hug doesn’t materialize as a meeting.”
